Craig Hill will serve as the moderator for our formal closing session, where we review the conference and together will set out a path forward for a BigSurv research agenda. Topics that will be covered:

  • BigSurv20 Fridays - The numerous highlights, a few lowlights, and everything in between
  • BigSurv20 award winners
    • Poster competition winners
    • Student paper competition
    • Big Data Challenge winner!
  • BigSurv20 special issue journals
  • The future of BigSurv - Where does BigSurv go from here? What does the future of the BigSurv "franchise" look like? Will there be a BigSurv22 and, if so, will it be "live" or virtual?

Following the closing, there will be BigSurv20 happy hour where you can freely interact with all participants using Slack.

There are 7 thematic happy hour sessions that you can join, as well:

  1. Combining multiple sources of data, such as registers, survey data, media, and sensor data
  2. Ethics of data collection and processing in the era of Big Data
  3. Innovations in data collection: Methods and new data sources
  4. Advances in questionnaire and survey user interface/experience design and evaluation

  6. Quality assessments of various sources of data, such as registers, survey data, media, and sensor data
  7. Communication and data visualization
  8. General happy hour
